I already have been spring sewing since after Christmas, and Periwinkle was on my list to make soon. What better way to welcome the blossoms on the tree and the warm sun with this lovely dress.

Periwinkle is a show stopping sundress. The slip on dress is comfortable and stylish! The woven straps in the back offer endless styling possibilities. The pattern includes instructions for making the top version, a simple dress version, a dress with a single ruffle, a three-tiered dress, and a three-tiered maxi dress. Your little one will love the comfort and you will love how quick and EASY this pattern is to make.

This purple dress was made for the final version in testing the Periwinkle. My oldest daughter loves this dress so much, she cried this afternoon while I handed it down to her sister. She knew she was getting a “big girl” dress in return but still was upset. This style is a size two and the two tiered skirt.

For Big Sister, I used a size four and added sort of a flounce to the bodice. To do this all i did was lay pattern piece down and then pinned, gathered and manipulated the fabric around all the nooks and crannies to get the desired affect that I was looking for. Then for the skirt I made a two tiered maxi using the simple dress cut chart and then added on to that with the ruffle from the two tiered skirt. Just love how this came out.
