I made a few of these before as Christmas gifts, and everyone loved them. This time decided to make one using the Christmas HTV Designs from Winter Wear Designs. I don’t have one of those fancy cutting machines YET!! When you download the designs, it comes with a jpeg file. So lets have some fun!!
First off, I had to make my own template cause I couldn’t find any that would fit my ornament. Here is my template here 3inches Christmas ornament template_edited-1 pdf format. You will want to save to your computer, then open in a paint or photo
Then to add your jpeg file of your choice from Winter Wear Designs, and shrink it to the size of one of the circles on the template. Once you have one done you can duplicate that layer and transfer to each circle (if doing multiple ornaments).
I printed my circle on staples repositionable window decals (bought in store could not find a link for it), but if you have transparency sheets that’s even better one less step.
So printed my finished project according to the instructions on the package.
The window decals are sticky ones are sticky, I placed a clean sheet of the decals on the back of the printed one and rub to make sure there are no bubbles.
After that its not sticky anymore so I then cut along the inner part of the circle. So no lines are showing.
Now you have your circle!!
If wanting to add decorative elements inside the bulb you would want to do the now. This one I added two different sizes of glitter.
With the hanging portion still off the bulb you will want to roll up your cut out circle.
You will now want to insert the rolled up circle into the ornament, make sure the image is right side up. You can position the circle in the bulb with some long tweezers. (I used my serger tweezers)
Once its in the position you like it, you can now put the hanger portion back on the ornament and now its ready to be hung or given as a gift! Hope you have fun with the project as much as I do!!
