For the first time, Petite Stitchery has created their leading pattern for women, Mama Adelyn.

-Long sleeve
-Simple Sleeve Hem
First, I created my Mama Adelyn with this beautiful floral DBP from So Sew English. This is the Tunic length with elbow sleeves. All I can say is that this was drafted so well that this fits me like a glove. I did not do any alterations on my pattern(lengthen/shorten) during testing. This pattern can easily be made year round with all the different type of knit fabrics out there.
With creating the Mama Adelyn there is also the girls Adelyn for all your mommy and me looks. So I created my girls and myself some wonderful new tops. There is an array of fabrics being used: mama: light sweater knit and french terry from Sincerely Rylee bought during a sweater box sale, On Evelyn the same DBP as my first one and a pink sweatshirt fabric from L.A. Finch Fabrics, On Violet she is wearing a french terry not sure where that came from and the heart sweatshirt fabric from Joann Fabric Stores.
*(I created the girls tunic by reducing it by 4″ )*
All with the love of this top, I love cowl necks and wanted to create one with this silhouette.
First: I raised my front neckline up 2.25″ and followed the curve to the shoulder line.
So now cut out as you would with your new neckline. Sew your shoulders together. After sewing shoulders measure your new neckline. Mine measured at 26″ around. I finished with sewing my garment all the way, including hemming.
To cut my cowl I used a piece of fabric at 17.5″ long and 26″wide. Sew right sides together on the long measurement. Then attach to you tunic/dress with wrong side of cowl to right side of dress.
WA LA you have a finished cowl tunic/dress. You can still make it with current neckline also, and you can make your cowl longer too, just add more length.
